Deutsch DT series connectors offer field-proven reliability and rugged quality. The DT series connector family is by far the most popular connector for use in many automotive, industrial, and Motorsport applications where a rugged, weather-resistant connection is required. DT series connectors are rated to IP68, which means the connection is rated up to 3 meters of submersion as well as being “Dust Tight” (No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact)
The DT series of connectors comes in several color options as well as different modifications. Here is a list of the most common modifications and a brief description of the different colors and what they indicate:
-E004: Black body connectors. Some of the black DT series connectors are keyed to a “B” configuration; this usually applies to the 8 and 12, These are not interchangeable with the gray DT connectors The 2, 3, 4, and 6-way black connectors remain interchangeable with the standard gray DT connectors.
-E008: This modification adds a nice lip at the rear of the connector to allow the installer to use a piece of heat tubing, usually 3:1 adhesive-lined tubing or a heat-shrinkable boot, to provide an additional layer of weatherproofing as well as additional strain relief.
Different color DT connectors and what they indicate:
- Gray: Standard keyway
- Black: B Keyway, with the exception of 2, 3, 4, and 6-way connectors
- Green:C Keyway
- Brown:D Keyway
